Sparklies
We spent Thanksgiving weekend at my in-laws cottage in northern Ontario. Lovely warm weather for October. We went swimming, burned stuff, ate apple crumble, drank beer, stripped some paint etc. I always bring my paints up just in case I get the drive and time to do something. The light is often nice down by the boathouse and along the water. I really paint in fits and starts. If I haven't painted in a while, it's really hard to restart: I have to regain the confidence and sometimes relearn the skill. It's a reminder that it's a really great habit to at least draw something - anything - everyday. So sometimes at the cottage I'm productive, sometimes I'm disastrous, sometimes I'm none of the above and sometimes I do all right. This was the result of the weekends arting using milk-based casein paints (thanks to James Gurney and his great blog for putting me onto those). Accidental red splotch aside, I think I did OK.
